On a personal note, I built a large outdoor rabbit hutch using pallets. Also, when I moved in I found some long bits of wood labeled "Toyoyta Motor Co.", apparently part of a crate used to ship cars. The wood was reddish, had pine sap, and was so hard I broke drills trying to drill it and it was a nightmare to cut. I made a table out of it.
