First and second coats
- 1/2 cup (100ml) boiled linseed oil
- 1/4 cup (50ml) solvent - turpentine or citrus thinners
- 1/4 cup (50ml) pigment
To make the primer just mix the oil and solvent. Apply a coat to the wood and rub off any excess that hasn't soaked in in 10 minutes with a lint free cloth.
To make the paint add some oil to th pigment, make a paste then add the rest of the oil and then the solvent. Paint thin coats in direction of the wood. Thick coats will form a skin and prevent the paint from drying properly. Figure 24 hours for the primer to dry and 48 hours for the paint to dry. Use in a well ventilated room.
