Mixed with a solvent, beeswax makes a paste wax that can be used on wood. The addition of other types of wax (Carnuba) makes it harder or fregrent (bayberry wax)
Place the wax in a jar in a suacepan of hot water and boil. BE VERY CAREFUL you don't forget about it and let it dry up, the wax will catch fire and shoot flames nearly a foot into the air. Extinguish only with baking soda. Open the windows and take it outside not to the sink. Trust me on this. Don't ask how I know. Anyway once the wax has melted add the solvent and stir. Let it harden to a paste. Apply the wax to wood using a clean lint free cloth, buff until hard and shiney. Wash the cloth with hot water and detergent. |
