Summary: Simon Glik was walking in a park in Boston and saw some police roughing up somebody. He used his cal phoen to shoot a video and was arrested on a wiretapping charge which was dismissed, but Glik filed suit claiming his 1st and 4th ammendment rights were violated. Federal judge agrees and affirms citizens 1st ammendment right to videotape anything they please while in public spaces (minor exemptions apply for private spaces, minors etc). Both police and papparazi has ought to keep the camera-armec public away from them, judge says they have a right to do that. |
