"France is warmer than ever"

Circularing in the press is the idea France is "warmer than it's ever been". Here's two reasons why that's not actually true.

First, it was warmer in 1300. It was warmer still in 0AD.

Historically, earth has been 10 degrees warmer for 80% of its 4.6 billion year history and we're not out of the last ice age yet.

Second, here's a photo of the box that made the measurement. Why is it not in the green area? That would read low. So why is it on concrete near metal? That would make it read high.

These boxes are a problem anyway, they have a special anti-reflective paint, at the paint ages ground weathers stations read high, by twice the amount the IPCC is alarmed about over a 100 year span.

The hottest July in the NOAA database remains, to this day, 1936. It was warmer before World War II.
The climatological summer (June-August) of 1936 was the warmest nationwide on record (since 1895) with an average temperature of 74.6°
