Ginger is utterly magic stuff. It boosts the immune system, strengthens the lungs, is an anti-inflammatory, raises your body temperature and tastes just swell.
You need: 1 Tablespoon of honey Fresh ginger, half as big as your palm. Fresh ginger. Not candied or crystallized ginger (the sugar is an immune-depressant). Get a piece about half the size of your palm, slice it as thinly as you can and put it in a medium pot full of water. Boil. Turn down to low heat after it's boiled and let it simmer for 20 minutes. By itself, it's fine, but it's helped immensly if you add the juice of half a lemon and a tablespoon of (preferably unpasturized) honey. CFS/MFS sufferers have noticed some good if they boil ginger in beef broth and have this for breakfast every day. You can also make this Asian tea by putting equal parts lemon, honey and ginger in a jar in the fridge. I'll turn into a jelly; one teaspoon of this in a cup with boiling water makes the tea.
