Reinfection of 2 European patients raises concerns about immunity

Two European patients are confirmed to have been reinfected with the coronavirus, raising concerns about people's immunity to the virus as the world struggles to tame the pandemic.

The cases, in Belgium and the Netherlands, follow a report this week by researchers in Hong Kong about a man there who had been reinfected four and a half months after being declared recovered — the first such reinfection to be documented.

Manitoba has the most active cases per capita in Canada: Health Canada.

The woman in her 90s from the Steinbach health district in the Southern Health region was connected to a COVID-19 outbreak at the Bethesda Place care home, according to a provincial news release.

She is the 13th person in the province to die from the virus.

The King's College London study of 10 UK hospital sites plus one in Italy found at least one in eight patients who had received hospital treatment for coronavirus had caught it on-site.
