All Nvidia g84 and g6 chips are bad. There are reports of Quadro NVS 140M & Quadro FX570M GPU chips failing with the same modality.

Nvidia acknowledged the problem in their press release enetitled "NVIDIA Provides Second Quarter Fiscal 2009 Business Update". Look at the second bulleted point.

Lenovo recognizes the problem and implies if you say the right thing something can be done even for out of warrenty machines.

SUIT
Nvidia set aside $200M to settle this class action suit. If you had an HP, Compaq, Dell or Apple with an Nvidia graphics chip, you qualify. Claims filing begins January 13, 2011 and ends March 14, 2011.
