When Henry Hardy called me he mentioned a guy called Bruce Junes at UCSD had been working with magi@uwo to try to recover Henry Spencer's 9 track analog tapes from utzoo. This stuck in my mind and somehow I anded up making contact with somebody at UWO then bugger Brewser Khale to take them at archive.org. This was around 96 or so and really nobody else has the space, the handful of files were terabytes each in an era of 10 gig disk drives. Alta Vista (Google didn't exist then) couldn't handle it, when the guy that ran it asked for that many drives Digital just laughed at him. So they sat at archive.org until I bugged Deja News to get a copy but they never mad them available but did sell themselves to Google who did put them all online. That wasn't ever anticipate by many people. In college at the time especially. But as a slice of history it's maybe the best kind.
