In 2016 a minor hurricane his the south east United States. It was out of the news in 3 days.
In 2024 the CAT 4 Hurricane Helene slammed into the continental US, in Florida, bounced off, then hit it again as a CAT 1, then withered away down to steps on the scale to be a tropical storm.
