Cardiff's hospitals have a major outbreak of coronavirus spreading in wards
There has been a huge spike in cases of people catching Covid-19 in hospitals in Cardiff and Vale health board
The latest data shows that in the week ending January 17, a total of 101 people caught the virus when in hospital for other reasons.
This is the highest ever weekly figure for hospital onset for any Welsh health board since the start of the pandemic. Cardiff and Vale has consistently been below Cwm Taff, Aneurin Bevan and Swansea Bay in terms of hospital transmission.
