The NHS Northamptonshire CCG has denied Britain's first Omicron Covid patient died in Northampton.
The unnamed victim, in his early seventies and described as a retired recluse who was "fit and healthy" but decided against a Covid jab, fell ill in early December.
His stepson, named only by LBC as John from Smithfield to protect the identity of the dead man, said the pensioner died in hospital in Northampton on Monday, Mail Online reports.
John claimed the victim had lived alone in a block of flats and died on Monday - a fortnight after catching the virus.
Despite the family's claims, the NHS Northamptonshire CCG have denied recording his death as being Omicron-related.
