US Election Nonsense 2024
US Election Nonsense 2024
In less than 30 days from today Americans will go to the voting booth and elect a new president.
Facebook blacked ALL news media from the USA by request of the Canadian Government. This was actually pretty nice, Facebook is a whole less divisive, I can't think how many close frieds unfriended me in 2016 for being intolerant of other opionions. Quite a shock - but it is quieter without those poeple I will say.
But, determined as our American friends are I have just today seen two poitical parodies. One for Trump, a Tik Tok video with his head on a womans body dancing in a pink dress. The other side put out a posted of Harris' supported dressed all as clowns.
That's it. No thought to what they say they want to do, no intelligent discourse to bridge the gap between what one side wants and what the other wants, just "You're a bunch of clowns", "You're a fag". Holy crap. That's it?
We watched Idiocracy last night. This was right out that film. I don't care if they're clown or a fag or from Uranus, this isn't a personality or popularity content and what I care about is who will kill the fewest people in their term and who will do the most to clean up the evironment.
I have never thought much of Donald Trump. I never watched that awful show (and I'm amused at how many people I remember from Usenet who used to post how great it was are now suddenly not happy with guy who doesn't seem to act any differntly from then) and do agree he's a bit brusque, putting it mildly.
But, there are two things that cause me to pause and I should point out I'm apolitical with socialist leanings where practical and find I can not align myself with any political party.
The fictional character Ali G (Sascha Baron Cohen), interviewed Noam Chomsky, MIT AI guy from 40 years ago and consistanty the de-facto moral center of the left and a guy I well and truly respect - his talk at the University of Toronto on education literally changed my life. So here he is, our fearless leader - and he gets punked by Ali G. Badly.
He spent 20 minutes trying hard to understand the utter bullshit Ali G was spewing at him. It was awful and I just cringed the entire time. In contrast he tired to intervew Donald Trump, started talking about ice cream while Trump asked politely twice if he could get the point. When he didn't, Trump stood up, said "this is Bullshit" and left. Trump onoy spent 20 seconds on this knew it was bullshit and went to do something else. Chomsky wasted half an hour on this and never realised he was being punked. Trump has a fine bullshit detector. Is thart we he sent less n Ukraine?
That's one. Two, go and count the amount spent on Ukraine and how many bodies there were in each administration.
Prudence dictates the guy who kills the least poeple should win, and I don't care one iota who that is.
