Single-page version
This is the offline version of the Lagom LCD monitor test
images. The online version can be found at
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/.
The online version is contains extensive descriptions of how to use
the images. This offline version can be used on computers without an
internet connection.
This page and the accompanying images are copyright 2007, Han-Kwang
Nienhuys. permission is granted to keep a copy of these images and
this page for personal, noncommercial use. They are only available for
download from www.lagom.nl/lcd-test. They
may not be redistributed (e.g. placed online, on webforums, offered
for sale, etc.) or used for commercial purposes. The image files and
this document may not be modified.
Quick contrast test
All 32 bands should be distinguishable from each other and from the
background.
Display settings
Sharpness
Adjust the sharpness such that all squares blend in. Native
resolution required.
Gamma calibration
The stripes should blend in at value 2.2. Native resolution
required.
Gradient test (banding test)
The gradient should be smooth without vertical lines or bands.
Black-level test
All squares should be distinguishable from the background,
preferably without visible noise.
White saturation test
All squares should be distinguishable from the background.
Inversion (pixel walk) test
One of the 9 boxes below may flicker slightly. The less is
flickers, the better. Native resolution required.

Response-time test
Less flashing on the left means a shorter (faster) response time. Use the
chart on the right for comparison. Native resolution required.
Viewing angle test
The colors below should change as little as possible with the
viewing angle.
Contrast ratio
To measure the contrast ratio, please visit
the contrast-ratio
page.
Subpixel rendering
Check that the font display is optimal with subpixel smoothing. The
edge in the colored square that appears as a black line points towards
your subpixel layout.
