ICANN - Working hard or hardly working?

ICANN - Working hard or hardly working?
October 2007

Some French dude took Tina Dam, IDN manager of ICANN, out to lunch, then finagled a visit to the mothership and filmed the whole place (except for the locked lawyers offices) and the surprise was almost nobody was there, and poeple who wern't there were all goofing off. Except the newbie who obviusly hasn't settled into ICANN corporate culture yet. The video he released had sections with Tina's head superimposed on the lower right so you could see her reaction in real-time to what was being filmed. Her reaction to the cubazoid sexting his GF is utterly priceless.

In thid first frame the camera has just entered the room and caught them unaware.

Oops, caught him at a bad time texting his girlfriend while he's on twitter and his computer is idle sitting there to a nearly empty Windows desktop.

ICANN has windows?

Oh crap we woke him up. Darn it.

Tina suddenly realizs the camera is shooting the sleeping ICANN staffer and a look of horror comes over her face.

Raises her eyebrows as if to say "Uh, camera? Look busy? Oy!" It's just for a fraction of a second all siubtle like. At 5:41 in the video. Time? 4:27 PST.

He quickly bolts upright and pretends to be doing something with that blank screen in front of him

Now he looks busy and is no longer the focal point.

Buddy in the blue shirt is instead. Oh crap he's just standing there hang out. He's not working either.

Uhhh... look...

Not looking at me... raising eyebrows won't work... must wave....

Taking no chances with the eyebrow thing not working in time again she waves instead.

He quickly stares at a screen, feigning interest in a paypal receipt for some snowshoes.

This segment is over. For some reason there's no more footage for a while.

Camera politely focuses on a white board with pictures of starfish while Tina gives a death glare to blue-shirt guy.

I... think we're done filming in here lets go back to that guy who actually looked like he was working.

When it's caught doing something naughty, ICANN always wants you to look at the white board.
