Boston doctor says he almost had to be INTUBATED after suffering severe allergic reaction from Moderna Covid vaccine

“I feel that if I did not have my EpiPen with me, I would be intubated right now, because it was that severe,” he said, adding that it was the worst allergic reaction he had experienced since he was 11 years old.

The physician said he now recommends that people with allergies receive the vaccine in a hospital setting, instead of getting it from a clinic or local provider.

“I knew the symptoms. I had the experience. I was a physician, and I was scared to death. Imagine someone who does not have the information,” he noted. Sadrzadeh has offered Moderna a blood sample in an effort to help the firm identify what ingredient in the vaccine may have triggered the allergic reaction.

“I really don’t want anybody to go and experience this and go through this event that I had,” he said.

Four Ukrainians Died After Being Given Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine

n Ukraine, four soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine died after they were injected with a coronavirus vaccine developed by American specialists. This was announced by the representative of the press service of the People's Militia Department of the self-proclaimed LPR, Alexander Mazeikin.

According to him, the drug is being tested in the Kharkov region. There are 15 volunteers, in particular, ten of them are infected with COVID-19.

In the course of the research, eight patients' health deteriorated sharply and they were transferred to intensive care.

As a result, five patients, including four military personnel, died from complications caused by the infection, Mazeikin said. He stressed that the doctors could not provide the victims with the necessary assistance, since they did not have information about the composition of the injections. He also noted that the vaccines, presumably, could be used in some medical institutions of the Kharkiv region, which caused complications in patients with weak immunity, the Lugansk Information Center reports.

Earlier it became known that the American vaccine against COVID-19 has been tested in humans. A strong immune response to coronavirus was recorded in all 45 patients participating in the first stage of research.

The drug was created by the American biotechnology company Moderna. During clinical trials, patients received two doses of a potential vaccine, all volunteers developed antibodies. The trials involved 45 healthy people aged 18 to 55 years. It is clarified that each of the three groups received mRNA-1273 vaccine in different dosages twice with an interval of 28 days.

The Sandy Creek school district in Syracuse New York closed today after on third of staff members reported feeling ill after the second vaccine, district officials said.

Superintendent Kyle Faulkner told Syracuse.com | The Post Standard that health care provider ConnectCare came to the district to give teachers, staff, substitutes, aides, bus drivers and others the Moderna vaccine.

More than half the employees received the first shot a month ago, and the second injection was Wednesday, Faulkner said.

Of those, at least one-third reported feeling ill including fever and other symptoms, Faulkner said.

“We are a small district, and we had so many folks down and out today that we didn’t have enough people to staff the schools,’' Faulkner said. “Some people get pretty sick with the second shot.”

The district is using an emergency day for the closing.

Moderna begins studying potential COVID-19 vaccine booster targeting variant first detected in South Africa

Drugmaker previously reported its original vaccine is less effective against the B1351 variant

Drug manufacturer Moderna says it will begin testing a variant-specific version of its COVID-19 vaccine that would target the B1351 variant first detected in South Africa.

The company has previously reported that its original two-dose vaccine — already approved for use in Canada — appears to provide protection against the B117 variant first detected in the U.K., as well as the B1351 variant, though its own research suggests it may be less effective against the latter.

The company says it will study the B1351 variant-specific vaccine both as a potential booster to the original COVID-19 vaccine and as a standalone for people who have not yet received a vaccine at all.

It will study the outcomes of three different scenarios:

o A single shot of the B1351 variant-specific vaccine.
o A shot combining both the original vaccine and the B1351 variant-specific booster.
o A booster of the original vaccine, added to the original two-dose version.

The B1351-specific vaccine will undergo clinical trials at the National Institutes for Health in the U.S.

Pfizer and Moderna vaccines linked with heart problems

Dr June Raine, MHRA Chief Executive, said: “We have carefully reviewed reports of suspected adverse reactions involving types of heart inflammation known as myocarditis and pericarditis.

"We have concluded that the Covid-19 vaccines made by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna may be linked with a small increase in the risk of these very rare conditions.
